About Ian Williams
Having spent 32 years in policing, Ian retired as a Chief Inspector from West Yorkshire Police in 2019. During his service he was focussed on uniformed frontline policing, specialising in neighbourhood policing, community engagement and partnerships.
In the last few years of his service he was the digital operational lead for the force, charged with transforming policing and bringing in new technologies such as Mobile Applications and Body Cameras for the first time. He ensured that both the strategic aims of the force and the operational needs of frontline staff were met.
Following his retirement from the police, Ian joined Motorola Solutions working within the sales overlay team across Europe, Middle East and Africa. In many ways his current role of identifying and highlighting requirements, outcomes and benefits is very similar to the role he held in the police. Ian sees himself as a bridge between the product teams and the end user.
