PMRExpo 2025: 5G campus networks – accelerators of the digital transformation
PMRExpo 2025, the leading European trade fair for Secure Communications, is being staged in Cologne from 25 to 27 November. With the exhibition, the PMRExpo Summit, the Connecting Area and the new accompanying symposium "PMRExpo meets Wehrtechnik" on the topic of drone and cyber technology, it offers a unique forum for knowledge transfer and networking in the field of secure mission and business-critical communications. Over the three days of the trade fair, more than 260 national and international companies will present their products and solutions.5G campus networks are advancing the digital transformation. They provide an outstanding thematic focus of PMRExpo 2025. In the "5G Hub for Private Networks", exhibitors will also demonstrate in 2025 live how private 5G networks are redefining networked applications in aviation, production, mobility, logistics and critical infrastructures. Visitors will experience real-world scenarios and technological innovations that boost efficiency, flexibility and security while maintaining full data sovereignty. The "5G Hub for Private Networks" deals with the following areas of focus:
- 5G campus networks – networking at a new level, Maximum security with private 5G networks,
- Smart manufacturing with 5G: the future of networked production,
- Efficient intralogistics with private 5G networks,
- immersion without delay –at 5G level as well as Smarter control of drones – with private 5G networks.

Accompanying specialised programme on 5G in the Connecting Area on the first day of the trade fair
An accompanying specialised programme entitled "Private 5G live - solutions for networked security and digital sovereignty" will take place with free admission on the stage in the Connecting Area on the first day of the fair, Tuesday, 25 November, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Connecting Area is also the central networking platform of PMRExpo and invites to an exchange of knowledge and networking with high quality experts extending beyond the lecture programme.
Panel discussions and best practice lectures
The 5G panel "Resilient networks for government and the economy" will take place in the form of a panel discussion with, among others, Jochen Abel, Vice President Enterprise Business of Nokia, Dr Christoph Bach, CTO Mission Critical of Ericcson GmbH, Uwe Hoppenz from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Murat Mutlu, Currenta Conneqtive, as well as Dr Martin Kasperick from Airpuls.
In the 5G panel "Mobile broadband networks", the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) will introduce a whitepaper. The subsequent panel discussion on various aspects of the panel theme will be held with Dr Christof Bach, Ericsson, Dr Marc Engelmann, Fraunhofer FOKUS, and Marc Emmelmann, Technische Universität Berlin. The third panel is entitled "Regulation & allocation of frequencies". Here, Prof. Bernd Sörries, WIK Consult, will address the regulatory perspectives of 5G, among other topics. He will discuss, for example, future 5G frequency needs of mobile phone network operators, the perspectives of private 5G networks and nomadic networks.
The 5G day in the Connecting Area ends between 5:45 and 6:00 p.m. with a summary of the findings.
A get-together will start in the Connecting Area at 6:00 p.m. The guests are invited to cold drinks and Currywurst (also veggie) – sponsored by telent GmbH and UPLINK Network GmbH.

„5G-Hub for Private Networks“ mit Live-Demonstrationen und begleitendem Fachprogramm
Vom 25. bis 27. November findet die PMRExpo 2025, die Europäische Leitmesse für Sichere Kommunikation, in Köln statt. Mit der Fachausstellung, dem PMRExpo Summit, der Connecting Area und dem, begleitenden Symposium „PMRExpo meets Wehrtechnik“ zum Thema Drohnen- und Cybertechnologie bietet sie ein einzigartiges Forum für Wissenstransfer und Networking rund um die sichere, einsatz- und geschäftskritische Kommunikation. An drei Messetagen präsentieren über 260 nationale und internationale Unternehmen ihre Produkte und Lösungen.5G Campusnetze treiben die digitale Transformation voran. Sie bilden einen herausragenden Themenschwerpunkt der PMRExpo 2025. Im „5G-Hub for Private Networks“ zeigen Aussteller auch 2025 live, wie private 5G-Netze neue Maßstäbe für vernetzte Anwendungen in Aviation, Produktion, Mobilität, Logistik und Kritischen Infrastrukturen setzen. Begleitendes Fachprogramm zu 5G in der Connecting Area am ersten Messetag
Auf der Bühne der Connecting Area findet am ersten Messetag, Dienstag 25. November, von 12 Uhr bis 18 Uhr, erstmalig ein begleitendes und eintrittsfreies Fachprogramm mit dem Titel „Private 5G live – Lösungen für vernetzte Sicherheit und digitale Souveränität“ statt. Die Connecting Area ist auch die zentrale Networking-Plattform der PMRExpo und lädt – über Vortragsprogramme hinaus – zum Wissensaustausch und Netzwerken mit hochkarätigen Experten ein.
Podiumsdiskussionen und Best Practice-Vorträge
Das 5G - Panel „Resiliente Netze für Staat & Wirtschaft“ bestreiten in Form einer Podiumsdiskussion u.a. Jochen Abel, Vice President Enterprise Business bei Nokia, Dr. Christoph Bach, CTO Mission Critical der Ericcson GmbH, Uwe Hoppenz vom Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI), Murat Mutlu, Currenta Conneqtive, sowie Dr. Martin Kasperick von Airpuls.
Im 5G-Panel „Mobile Breitbandnetze“ stellt das Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) ein Whitepaper vor. Die anschließenden Podiumsdiskussion zu verschiedenen Aspekten des Panelthemas führen Dr. Christof Bach, Ericsson, Dr. Marc Engelmann, Fraunhofer FOKUS, und Marc Emmelmann, Technische Universität Berlin. Das dritte Panel steht unter Überschrift „Regulierung & Frequenzvergabe.“ Hier wird sich Prof. Dr. Bernd Sörries, WIK Consult, u.a. den regulatorischen Perspektiven von 5G widmen. Er behandelt u.a. den zukünftigen Frequenzbedarf für 5G der Mobilfunknetzbetreiber, die Perspektiven der privaten 5G-Netze und nomadische Netze.
Der 5G-Tag in der Connecting Area endet zwischen 17.45 Uhr und 18 Uhr mit einer Zusammenfassung der Erkenntnisse.
Um 18 Uhr startet in der Connecting Area ein Get-together. Die Gäste sind zu Kaltgetränken und Currywurst (auch veggie) eingeladen – sponsored by telent GmbH und UPLINK Network GmbH.
