Secusmart Launches Secure “Group Messaging” for Government Use
Secusmart, maker of the German chancellor’s secure phone, is expanding its proven SecuVOICE app for secure mobile calls with a Group Messaging feature. The new function is tailored for government workflows and supports confidentiality up to VS-NfD (classified – for official use only) and NATO Restricted levels.
Messengers are now part of everyday work life — in 2024, Germans sent around 2.8 billion messages daily, according to VATM. To meet growing professional needs, Secusmart’s new feature combines the ease of consumer messengers with maximum security. Group chats, voice messages, and file sharing are possible both within and across organizations, always fully encrypted and confidential.
For ministries, agencies, and security organizations, Group Messaging offers defined group structures and roles, such as command and coordination functions. Admin tools enable central management of access rights, group templates, and data retention rules.
“With Group Messaging, we close the last gap in confidential mobile communication — from tap-proof telephony to secure group coordination, suitable for government use,” says Christoph Erdmann, CEO of Secusmart.
Approval by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is underway. Once completed, all existing SecuVOICE customers will be able to use the new feature free of charge.
