Symposium "PMRExpo meets Wehrtechnik"

The changed security situation in Europe requires the integration of civil and military protection tasks, as well as coordinated security solutions. Effective communication is crucial for civil-military cooperation, and the need for interoperable systems is particularly evident in communications infrastructure.

The symposium “PMRExpo meets Wehrtechnik” is therefore taking place for the first time on 25 and 26 November 2025, accompanying PMRExpo 2025 and the PMRExpo Summit. It is specifically dedicated to these challenges. PMRExpo is thus introducing a new format dedicated to technical and regulatory issues surrounding the military use of drones and aspects of cybersecurity, supporting exchange between the German Armed Forces, public safety organizations, and industry.

Among other thematic areas, the symposium deals with interoperable communications networks, crisis prevention and network resiliency in the event of area-wide failures, joint situation reporting and management support systems as well as the protection of critical networks through military expertise in the civil sector.

Key topics: Cyber and drone technology

Main focus "Cyber"

People in charge from emergency services, disaster management, industry, research & teaching and military organisations will provide answers in lectures for concrete applications of threat-appropriate technologies – for example, in the fields of secure communications and AI-supported intrusion detection. These and many other presented aspects of cybersecurity are viewed as a foundational element of modern security architectures for emergency services, critical infrastructures and the economy.

Main focus "Drones"

People in charge from emergency services, disaster management, industry, research & teaching and military organisations will present the latest findings and requirements for the use of unmanned aircraft systems in the context of anticipatable deployment scenarios now and in the future. Platform technologies will be looked at just as much as modular sensor packages and the integration of entire systems into existing management and communications structures.
