After completing her master's degree, Jo-Ann Scharkoff joined SachsenGigaBit, where she worked on projects related to fibre optic expansion and the development of smart cities and the Internet of Things. In 2021, Ms Scharkoff will move to the Federal Office for Information Security, where she will be responsible for reviewing public 5G mobile network operators and promoting secure private 5G networks.
