PMRExpo 2025 festigt Spitzenposition in Europa
Anhaltendes Aussteller- und Besucherwachstum +++ Zunehmende internationale Reichweite +++ Place to be für BOS, KRITIS und Industrie +++ Zivil-militärische Zusammenarbeit erstmals im Fokus
„Im Angesicht zunehmender hybrider Bedrohungen adressiert die PMRExpo eines der derzeit wichtigsten Sicherheits- und Technologiefelder“, sagt Oliver Frese, Geschäftsführer der Koelnmesse. „Mit ihrem umfassenden Angebot für alle relevanten Akteure der sicheren Kommunikation unterstreicht die PMRExpo, warum sie die europäische Leitmesse ist“, so Frese weiter.Insgesamt 268 Aussteller aus 29 Ländern präsentierten vom 25. bis 27. November auf der PMRExpo 2025 ihre Lösungen auf einer vergrößerten Ausstellungsfläche. Rund 6.000 Fachbesucherinnen und -besucher kamen nach Köln und sorgten für einen Zuwachs von 10 Prozent. Zu den Besuchergruppen mit dem stärksten Zugewinn zählten unter anderem die Niederlande, Österreich und Schweden.
„Sichere Kommunikation ist das Rückgrat einer modernen, resilienten Gesellschaft. Die PMRExpo 2025 zeigt eindrucksvoll, wie unverzichtbar hochverfügbare und robuste Kommunikationsinfrastrukturen und Lösungen für die Sicherheit und Versorgung Europas sind“, sagt Bernhard Klinger, Vorstandsvorsitzender des Bundesverbandes Professioneller Mobilfunk (PMeV).
Fachliche Orientierung und inhaltlicher Tiefgang
Die Fachmesse vermittelte einen umfassenden Überblick über aktuelle Technologien und zukünftige Entwicklungen der sicheren einsatz- und geschäftskritischen Kommunikation. Die Aussteller zeigten, wie Kommunikationssysteme künftig noch sicherer, krisenfester und anpassungsfähiger gestaltet werden können. Das Zusammenspiel der relevanten Akteure – von politischen Institutionen über Anwender bis hin zu Lösungsanbietern – prägte unter anderem die Diskussionen rund um das Thema Breitband. Dies gilt sowohl für den Bereich der öffentlichen Sicherheit als auch für private 5G-Campusnetze. Auch die Themen Cyber- und Drohnentechnologie stießen auf ein spürbares Interesse.
Der PMRExpo Summit vertiefte diese und weitere Themen entlang der Bereiche BOS, KRITIS und Leitstellen. Beiträge aus behördlicher, wissenschaftlicher und industrieller Perspektive zeigten auf, wo Handlungsdruck besteht und welche technologischen Ansätze bereits verfügbar sind. Insbesondere die Deep Dives zu Polizei und Feuerwehr veranschaulichten den großen Nutzen von Formaten, die operative Anforderungen mit technologischer Entwicklung verbinden und so konkrete Mehrwerte für die Praxis liefern.
Auch das von der BDBOS ausgerichtete „Forum Breitband“ verzeichnete eine starke Resonanz. Im Fokus stand der fachliche Austausch zwischen führenden Telekommunikations- und Hardware-Experten, der BDBOS sowie Vertreterinnen und Vertretern von Bund und Ländern. Die Diskussionen machten deutlich, dass moderne Breitbanddienste für eine hochleistungsfähige mobile Sprach- und Datenkommunikation zunehmend unverzichtbar sind, um Einsatzlagen auch mit voranschreitender Technologie erfolgreich bewältigen zu können.
Zivil-militärische Zusammenarbeit verstärkt im Fokus
Mit dem Symposium „PMRExpo meets Wehrtechnik“ stellte die PMRExpo das hochaktuelle Thema der zivil-militärischen Zusammenarbeit in den Mittelpunkt. In Anbetracht geopolitischer Spannungen und zunehmender Angriffe auf KRITIS gewinnt dieses Feld für Behörden und Bundeswehr gleichermaßen an enormer Dringlichkeit. Es erfordert zudem zuverlässige gemeinsame Schnittstellen – auch zur Industrie. In stark besetzten Panels diskutierten hochrangige Expertinnen und Experten an zwei Tagen über Interoperabilität, Kommunikationsstrukturen sowie Herausforderungen und Chancen im Bereich Cyber- und Drohnentechnologien.
Innovationskraft bei KI-basierter Krisenkommunikation
KI verändert mit hohem Tempo die Art, wie Informationen ausgewertet, Entscheidungen vorbereitet und komplexe Lagen kommuniziert werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund zeigte der Hackathon@PMRExpo supported by Corevas erneut, wie viel Innovationskraft in der Branche steckt. 40 junge Talente entwickelten KI-basierte Anwendungen für Krisenkommunikation und operative Entscheidungsunterstützung. Das Siegerteam DispatchBuddies überzeugte mit einer KI, die beim Notrufgespräch live mithört und Informationen aus dem Gespräch automatisch erkennt (Lagebilder, Hinweis auf Gefahren oder Verletzungen etc.).

PMRExpo 2025 solidifies peak position in Europe
Sustained exhibitor and visitor growth +++ Increasing international reach +++ Place to be for public safety (BOS), critical infrastructures (KRITIS) and industry +++ Focus on civil-military cooperation for the first time

"With its comprehensive offering for all relevant participants in secure communication, PMRExpo emphasises why it is the leading European trade fair“, Frese continues.A total of 268 exhibitors from 29 countries presented their solutions in an expanded exhibition area from 25 to 27 November at PMRExpo 2025. Around 6,000 trade visitors came to Cologne and led to growth of 10 percent. Among the visitor groups with the strongest increase were the Netherlands, Austria and Sweden.

Specialised orientation and depth of content
The trade fair conveyed a comprehensive overview of current technologies and future developments in secure mission and business-critical communication. The exhibitors showed how communications systems can be designed to become even more secure, crisis-proof and adaptable. The interaction of the relevant participants – from political institutions through users to solution providers – defined the discussions revolving around the broadband theme, among other things. This applies for both the field of public safety and for private 5G campus networks. The themes of cyber and drone technology also met with tangible interest.
The PMRExpo Summit looked into these and other themes in the fields of BOS, KRITIS and control centres in greater depth. Contributions from official, academic and industrial perspectives pointed out where there is a need for action and which technological approaches are already available. Especially the deep dives into police and fire brigade illustrated the great benefits of formats that unite operative requirements with technological development, thus providing concrete added value for practice.
The "Forum Broadband“ organised by the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS) also met with a strong response. The focus was on a professional exchange between leading telecommunications and hardware experts, the BDBOS and representatives of federal and state governments. The discussions made clear that modern broadband services are becoming increasingly indispensable for high-performance mobile speech and data communication, with the aim of also being able to successfully master deployment situations with advancing technology.
Intensified focus on civil-military cooperation
With the "PMRExpo meets Wehrtechnik" symposium, PMRExpo focused on the highly topical theme of civil-military cooperation. Considering the geopolitical tensions and increasing attacks on critical infrastructures, this field is taking on an enormous degree of urgency for both authorities and the Bundeswehr (German armed forces). It also requires reliable, common interfaces – also with industry. Over a period of two days, panels with high-level experts discussed interoperability, communications structures as well as challenges and opportunities in the field of cyber and drone technologies.
Innovative strength with AI-based crisis communication
AI is rapidly changing the way information is evaluated, decisions are prepared and complex situations are communicated. Against this background, the Hackathon@PMRExpo supported by Corevas once again showed how much innovative strength is to be found in the industry. 40 young talents developed AI-based applications for crisis communication and operative decision-making support. DispatchBuddies, the winning team, convinced with an AI that listens in on emergency calls live and automatically recognises information from the conversation (situation overviews, reference to hazards or injuries, etc.).
