Dr. -Ing. Jürgen Tusch

Dr. Jürgen Tusch is a senior advisor in the field of critical telecommunications infrastructure and cybersecurity for energy suppliers. He was Chief Technology Officer of the European Utilities Telecom Council (EUTC) and founded Dr. Tusch Consulting in 2021, focusing on advising energy suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers in the areas of telecommunications and cybersecurity for the energy system. His expertise is based on more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry and over 40 years of experience in telecommunications. For more than ten years, until early 2022, he was Head of Telecommunications at Westenergie AG in the E.ON Group and the predecessor companies innogy SE and RWE Deutschland AG. In this role, he was responsible for the development and operation of telecommunications services for the control and operation of the largest electricity distribution network in Germany. In this context, he also initiated the first 450 MHz LTE pilot network in Germany with 450connect GmbH in order to gain practical experience with the new radio technology in a real electricity grid operating environment. After holding management positions in leading companies in the telecommunications industry, Dr. Tusch joined RWE AG in 2002. There, he held various management positions in IT infrastructure and data communication for the areas of corporate IT, energy trading, and electricity distribution networks. Dr. Tusch studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
