Migration and Evolution of Resilient Broadband Communication for Public Safety (BOS)
PMRExpo Summit
02:35 PM - 03:05 PM
Congress Centre North, Konrad-Adenauer-Saal
The TETRA network is currently the communication backbone of the BOS (authorities and organizations with security tasks). To meet the growing demand for broadband communication for the emergency services, the public mobile network is already being used in addition. The BDBOS is considering the establishment of its own core network with its own subscriber management and MCX functionality, utilizing public mobile networks. The presentation will introduce concepts on how locally limited isolated solutions with autonomous mobile LTE cells (keyword: Ahrtal natural disaster) can compensate for a local outage. The combination with emerging LEO satellite constellations (OneWeb, IRIS2) complements this approach and creates nationwide resilience in addition to the public mobile networks.
