Metropolitan Concepts Using the Example of the Munich Underground
PMRExpo Summit
10:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Congress Centre North, Konrad-Adenauer-Saal
Secure and reliable communication is essential for emergency services (fire department, police, rescue services, etc.) to carry out their operations. The Digital Radio BOS network provides this communication. In special buildings, property radio systems provide radio coverage for emergency services.
The high density and large number of buildings in metropolitan areas or large, sprawling facilities, such as subways, require special consideration to ensure reliable communication within the buildings and to avoid interference with the open field network.
The presentation introduces two such interconnected solutions using the example of the Munich metropolitan concept and the radio coverage of the Munich subway with BOS and TETRA professional mobile radio, and explains how early and continuous cooperation between all parties involved made it possible to realize both a sustainable metropolitan concept and, building on this, comprehensive radio coverage of the Munich subway.
Based on the respective objectives of the projects, the requirements of the users, and the organizations and authorities involved, the key aspects and challenges in finding solutions are presented.
The presentation also introduces the selected planning approaches, the solutions used, and the specific technical implementations in each case.
Finally, the speakers present key success factors and best practices.
